Taylor Swift on Thursday has revealed that her mom has been diagnosed with cancer.
The "Shake It Off" singer posted on her Tumblr on Thursday morning a news that her mother, Andrea Finlay has been diagnosed with the Big C. She wrote that she asked her mother to get "screened for any health issues" as a gift just last Christmas.
"There were no red flags and she felt perfectly fine, but she did it just to get me and my brother off her case about it," Swift wrote. "The results came in, and I'm saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer."
The 25-year-old singer wrote that she wishes that she would not share the news, "but it's important and I'm used to sharing important events in my life with you," she explained.
She added that as much as she wants to make private the current situation of her mother, Andrea wants to encourage others to get screened.
"She wanted you to know because your parents may be too busy juggling everything they've got going on to go to the doctor, and maybe you reminding them to go get checked for cancer could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and easier battle," the "Shake It Off" singer wrote.
As Taylor Swift's mom is battling with cancer, the singer ends her message by expressing her gratitude.
Jaime King offered well wishes to Taylor Swift on Twitter, she wrote: "#PrayForMamaSwift We love you Taylor, Austin, mama and daddy Swift."
Also, singer Shawn Mendes also wrote on his Twitter: "#PrayForMamaSwift" and Mindy Kaling as well offers sympathy to Taylor, she tweets: "@taylorswift13 stay strong. Love to your Mom."
