The Samsung Galaxy S6 T-Mobile sales figures turned out to be double that of the Galaxy S6. Is the S6 Edge facing a supply shortage?

T-Mobile US disclosed on Thursday that sales of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have "already nearly double those" of Samsung Galaxy S5.

"In just the first 10 days, sales of the new Galaxy S6 series at T-Mobile are already nearly double those of the Galaxy S5 -- previously the most popular galaxy phone ever at T-Mobile," it said.

The carrier wrote that customers who order the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge before April 12 will receive a one-year Netflix subscription. Those qualified for this offer can visit the Samsung Promotions site to get the Netflix promo code.

Also, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Gold Platinum editions are reportedly now available for preorder and T-Mobile will begin shipping the handsets as soon as it receives the inventory from Samsung.

JK Shin, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics, said on Thursday that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will face a shortage as the Korean giant tech is facing difficulties in crafting the curved screen of the device, cited Reuters.

"Some carriers are switching existing orders to get more of the S6 Edge, and it looks like the demand for the model will exceed supply through this year. That means the average price will fall at a lower rate, which will have a positive impact on Samsung overall," said HMC Investment analyst Greg Roh.

Moreover, T-Mobile added that in the first 10 days of the HTC One M9 sales, the device has already surpassed the sales of HTC One M8 during the same period.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge sport a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display and are powered by an Exynos 7420 processor, with a 3GB RAM, Mali-T670 GPU, a 16MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera and run on Android OS v5.0.2 Lollipop.
