Ace comedian and actor Kevin Hart took home the award for Comedic Genius at the recently concluded MTV Movie Awards. Following an entertaining year of hit films, the funny man's latest honor is well-timed.

Hart dedicated the trophy to his two kids and family and gave the sweetest speech ever.

The "Get Hard" actor's friend and fellow comedian Jimmy Kimmel kicked things off with an introduction that was made up of a fair number of height jokes.

"I'm very happy to be here because it wasn't easy for Kevin. They said Kevin was too small to be a comedy giant," said Kimmel. Poking fun at Kevin's 5'4" frame, the late night show host recalled how he would struggle to climb up on a stage at the comedy clubs, E! News wrote.

But the jokes stopped as soon as Hart took the stage to give his acceptance speech. Hart reportedly decided to go straight for sensitivity, contrary to what everyone would have expected and thanked everybody who helped him get to the top of his career.

Kevin even brought his adorable kids, Hendrix and Heaven Leigh, on stage with him during the speech, according to HollywoodLife.

After thanking Jimmy and MTV, Kevin gave a big thanks to his fans for the award admitting that he couldn't have done this without them.

"I wanna thank my fiancée for being my rock right now," Kevin told the audience.

The "Soul Plane" star even thanked his ex-wife for giving him two kids who are his best friends right now. He thanked 10-year-old Heaven for being the most amazing daughter and 7-year-old Hendrix for being the most amazing son. Kevin admitted in front of the audience that he is doing all of this for them and added that he is trying to leave a legacy for his kids.

Kevin has been on a roll, having recently hosted Justin Bieber's roast on Comedy Central and starring in newly released movies "The Wedding Ringer" and "Get Hard." In addition, he also stars in the TV show "Real Husband of Hollywood."

This is the second-ever Comedy Genius Award given out at the MTV Movie Awards. Will Ferrell received the inaugural trophy in 2014.
