Robert Downey Jr. is not only rolling with some of Hollywood's biggest stars at the moment but was also recently presented with the Generational Award at MTV Movie Awards.
The trophy was awarded by none other than his "Avengers" co-stars.
With the help of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" squad. MTV commemorated the achievements of Robert Downey Jr. by honoring him with their highest honor: the MTV Generational Award!
Downey Jr. was introduced by his co-stars including Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johannson. E! News noted.
"He can be charming, intensely funny and seriously intense," the Avengers stars said of Downey Jr.
Saying that when you describe the character, it's obvious you are also describing the man who played them, the Avengers team presented their friend, hero and their avenger, "the invincible Robert Downey Jr.,"
Right after this heart-warming prelude, a medley of his movies such as the "Iron Man" series, "Sherlock Holmes," and "Due Date" followed. Downey Jr. made an impressive entrance strolling in via a steam-filled room colored by black and red lights.
Donning some red-lensed shades with thick black brims, the actor looked cool while saying his speech and accepting his golden popcorn. Even on the star-studded stage, Robert shined with an emotional and inspirational speech about redemption, according to HollywoodLife.
In his speech, he recounted his struggles with drugs, how he rose to the top, fell from grace and then actually crawled his way back to the top to not only be one of Hollywood's brightest stars but one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Poking fun at this past drug addictions, the "Natural Born Killers" actor even told the audience to keep their nose clean.
No doubt, this was his moment but Robert showed gratitude to his Avengers cast members saying that if a man is judged by the company he keeps, then he must be a winner thanks to the crew he's rolling with now.
Following his touching and humble speech, RDJ thanked his fans by sharing an exclusive world premiere clip of Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
