"Southern Charm" Kathryn Calhoun Dennis showed a different side of her in a recent interview with People. Kathryn and Thomas Ravenel's relationship shocked many, not only because of their age difference, but fans of the Bravo show believed that what happened between them was nothing but a fling.

Kathryn Dennis' pregnancy also came as a shock to many.

According to People, the writers of "Southern Charm" had to edit the script of the docuseries because of the unwanted pregnancy of Kathryn Dennis. Kathryn and Thomas, however, could not be more grateful of the new addition to their family.

"In the beginning it was difficult to adjust because it was so polarized from my previous lifestyle," Kathryn shared.

"I feel like, before I found out I was pregnant with Kensie, I was just a free-spirited 21-year-old that was just looking to have fun," she added.

The reality star, however, added that she was able to successfully adjust to motherhood and has become confident in her day to day decisions.

"I've gained my own acceptance with everything going on."

The "Southern Charm" actress gave birth to her baby with Thomas last March. Kathryn revealed that being a mother changed her entire perspective and life. She shared that she could not get through a day without seeing her baby girl.

"Literally, if I'm not with her, I just go through pictures on my phone. I never got it before I was pregnant, whenever everyone would show me pictures of their children. After having a baby I totally get it now," she said.

With more than a 31-year age gap, Kathryn and Tom were used to handling criticisms about their relationship. She shared that even their families and friends would even judge them when they see "Shahs of Sunset" couple together.

"Right now both of us have a lot of moving things in our lives. We do the best we can. It's not easy with all the circumstances, but we're just doing the best we can day to day," she said.
