Disney has reportedly confirmed that the "Frozen" sequel is happening and will be released in 2018, writes Cross Map.

Robert Iger, the CEO of Disney, has reportedly disclosed that the company is aiming for "excellence" and not "speed" to make the sequel, as the first "Frozen" took three years to make. This could mean that the "Frozen 2" release date might not be until 2018.

"Frozen 2" will still reportedly be directed by original "Frozen" directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. In addition, John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, said that the sequel will take viewers to Arendelle.

"We enjoyed making 'Frozen Fever' so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that," said Lasseter, according to Variety.

Moreover, Christian Today has reportedly stated that Anna might have her own "magical powers."

"Anna might have something that could represent the power of spring, since her older sister Elsa has the power of winter," said the article.

In a report by Master Herald, Prince Hans is rumored to be back on "Frozen 2" as a "redeemed man" and will help Elsa and Anna fight the new villain, which is yet to be revealed.

The first "Frozen" film generated about $1.3 billion at the box office and reportedly broke record sales on home videos and merchandise at Disney's stores.
