The Apple Watch will reportedly be available in stores this June.
According to a leaked memo obtained by iGen, Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts wrote in a memo that the Apple Watch will not be available for purchase starting on April 24 and through the month of May.
"Many of you have been getting questions asking if we will have the watch available in store on April 24 for walk-in purchases. As we announced last week, due to high global interest combined without initial supply, we are only taking orders online right now," Ahrendts wrote in a memo. "I'll have more update as we get closer to in-store availability, but we expect this to continue through the month of May."
Ahrendts added that the company is not going to launch every product with the same system they used with the Apple Watch.
"We all love those blockbuster Apple product launch days -- and there will be many more to come," she explained.
Furthermore, in a report from KGI's Ming-Chi Kuo, "the usually accurate analyst estimates that global pre-orders for the Apple Watch will top 2.3 million units," according to 9to5Mac.
"We estimate production could reach 2.4mn units in June, absent supply chain bottlenecks; thus global pre-orders are less than the 4.8mn unit of combined production in March-June as most of those pre-ordering can get Apple Watch in June," said Kuo. "At present, iPhone shipments stand at 50-60mn units per quarter, suggesting less than one tenth of iPhone users have pre=ordered Apple Watch."
Meanwhile, according to the International Business Times, the US preorders on Friday has reportedly estimated to be around 957,000 units, based on a data obtained from a panel of 2 million shoppers by a market research firm Slice Intelligence.
The Apple Watch is available in three models -- the Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch Gold Edition and Apple Watch.
