If celebrities date for long enough, there are bound to be wedding rumors. Such rumors have circulated for singer-actor Rain and actress Kim Tae Hee since it was first revealed that they were dating. The most recent wedding bell rumors happened this week when it was reported that the couples' parents had met.
A Korean news outlet reported that both sets of parents had met and given their permission for Rain and Kim Tae Hee to marry. The news outlet also reported that the couple was making wedding arrangements, including booking a hall for a ceremony some time in 2015.
This latest rumor prompted an immediate response from Kim Tae Hee's agency, Cube Entertainment.
"Kim has no plans to marry within the year," said the Cube representative on April 17. "She is still dating Rain, but there are no concrete plans yet."
They also went on to say that Rain never attended a meeting at which both sets of parents were present. The agency also said there were no wedding plans.
The last time wedding rumors spread for the couple was when actor-singer Rain converted to Catholicism. Since Kim Tae Hee is Catholic, some saw it as a step taken in preparation for an upcoming wedding. At that time both stars' agencies denied that a wedding was being planned.
And when Rain sold his home, it prompted more rumors.
According to the Korean media outlet Star News, Rain sold a home of his in Seoul's Samseong neighborhood on April 2, making a hefty profit from it. He actually lives in a Cheomdamdong villa, but the speculation was that he sold the house to fund his upcoming wedding.
The couple began dating late in 2012 and revealed their relationship to the public in early 2013. At the time Rain was serving his mandatory two-year military duty. He was discharged in July
The couple has kept a low profile near home but they have been photographed together on vacations, including recent photos taken when they visited a California amusement park, went on a dinner date in Shanghai and took a trip to Jeju Island. The Jeju Island trip also prompted wedding rumors.
The date in Shanghai occurred during the time that Rain was filming a Chinese television series titled "Diamond Lover." In 2014 Kim Tae Hee also worked in China, playing a role in the Chinese historical drama "Wang Xi Zhi."
In 2014 Rain appeared in the k-drama "My Lovely Girl" with Krystal Jung.
Kim Tae Hee's last k-drama role was in 2013 when she played the title role in "Jang Ok Jung."
