Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly pushing through with their plan to adopt a child from war-torn Syria.
According to a new report from Express, Angelina Jolie had long wanted to adopt a child after seeing first-hand the effects of the Syrian conflict on little kids at refugee camps.
"She has been moved to tears on several occasions over the plight of youngsters orphaned in the Syrian conflict," said the source, described as a business associate of the couple. "Now she has sorted out her health issues, she and Brad believe the time is right to adopt another orphan from there, most likely a daughter."
Another pal also confirmed the Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adoption.
"This is something that has become very close to their hearts," the source told the publication. "They would like to accomplish it, if possible, before the end of summer because, even though they are both busy, their diaries are relatively light for most of 2015."
Angelina Jolie had her ovaries removed to cut the risk of cancer since she has a gene mutation that makes her extremely vulnerable to the disease.
"Angelina's feeling good about turning 40 in June with a clean bill of health but what will make her happiness complete is seeing a new little face at the dinner table."
Express added that Angelina Jolie has visited different Syrian refugee camps six times for the past four years.
"According to latest reports, at least 70,000 children have lost their fathers and a further 3,700 have had both parents either killed or imprisoned or have been separated from them while fleeing the civil war," the article added.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt also adopted Maddox, 13, who hails from Cambodia; Pax, 11, who is from Vietnam; and Zahara, 10, who is from Ethiopia. They also have three other children, Shiloh, 8, and twins, Knox and Vivienne, 6.
