"Castle" season 7 finale spoilers revealed that the episode will focus on Castle's "terrifying" childhood, while Beckett is faced with a tough decision.
According to "Castle" season 7 finale reports from Enstarz, ABC has released an official press realease about the much awaited episode, called "Hollander's Woods."
The synopsis reads:
"A death in the woods draws Castle [Nathan Fillion] back to a terrifying and defining event in his childhood. Investigation leads to obsession, as he attempts to unearth answers that have eluded him for decades, all while Beckett [Stana Katic] faces a crossroads of her own, on the season finale of 'Castle.'"
"Castle" season 7 finale is set to on May 11.
Fans of the crime show have been able to breathe a sigh of relief after Nathan Fillion, who plays the titular Castle, finally signed a contract to work on more seasons. This will probably put any rumors of cancellation to rest.
Unfortunately, his co-star Stana Katic, who plays Beckett on the show, has yet to sign the dotted line renewing her contract. This has left fans worried as Castle and Beckett's relationship on the show has been a major driving force for it moving forward. Without Stanic, fans of the "Castle" might feel uneasy and ABC may be forced to put the show on the chopping block.
In an interview with TV Line, Katic explained that she did not want "Castle" to "overstay its welcome."
"For me it’s about art over finance, and as long as we’re creating something that is compelling and that has somewhere to go, then we’re good to go. And when we find that we’re not, when we don’t have anywhere else to go, then it’s time for everyone to pack up and move onto the next thing," she said.
David Amman, the showrunner for "Castle" who has also written numerous episodes of the show, has also stepped down from his position. It is still unclear whether Andrew Marlowe, the creator executive producer and unofficial co-showrunner of "Castle," will return for the show's next season.
