BlackBerry Launches BlackBerry Classic White Version; Release Date & Features

BlackBerry has launched the BlackBerry Classic white version and will be available this week.

BlackBerry Classic, which launched in December in 2014, was only available in black back then. Now the white model is coming out, according to GSM Arena.

The site added that the BlackBerry Classic white version will be available this week in Hong Kong via an authorized distributor, and in the UK through the Amazon and ShopBlackBerry. In addition, in the coming weeks, the device will be available in Indonesia, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.

"The introduction of the BlackBerry Classic in white offers yet another color choice to users who desire a stylish smartphone, yet understand the need for a mobile business tool that keeps them productive and securely manages their information," said the president for devices and emerging solutions at BlackBerry, Ron Louks, according to CrackBerry.

Furthermore, the device is preloaded with the BlackBerry 10.3.1 operating system that lets users gain access to powerful features, like BlackBerry Blend which brings a message from the smartphone directly to the user's computer or tablet. The other feature is the BlackBerry Assistant, which can be used with text and voice commands to help the user manage personal email, calendar, contacts and other apps.

BlackBerry Classic has a 3.5-inch screen size with a resolution of 720 x 720 that translates into 294 ppi.

Under the hood, the device runs on Qualcomm MSM 8960 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 2GB of RAM, 16GB flash and expandable memory via MicroSD card of up to 128GB.

Classic has 2MP front-facing camera with 3x digital zoom and 720p HD video recording while the rear camera of the device has 8MP with features such as backside illumination, touch to focus, 5x digital zoom, image, and video stabilization.

BlackBerry Classic has a 2515 mAh battery that has up to 17.2 hours of GSM talk time.
