Universal has announced that the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel release date is in 2017 and author E. L. James' husband will write the screenplay for the sequel, writes The Wrap. In addition, the third book, "Freed" will be released on February 9, 2018.
Furthermore, the Stuff reported that "Fifty Shades of Grey" author EL James has recruited her husband Niall Leonard to write the screenplay of the sequel.
"Niall is an outstanding writer in his own right, with multiple established credits, and we are lucky to have him join Team Fifty," said producer Michael De Luca
The site added that "Fifty Shades of Grey" lead actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are reportedly "negotiating for more money to return for the sequel".
Furthermore, Rita Ora will reportedly be back to reprise her role in the sequel as Christian Grey's sister. According to the Mirror, Ora will join in the two sequels of "Fifty Shades of Grey".
Moreover, model Cara Delevingne is reportedly being eyed by the film executives to join the film and speculated that she might play the role of Leila Williams, Christian Grey's former submissive.
"Cara is wowing in her performance in Pan with Hugh Jackman and E.L. James loves the idea of her as name being in the next movie," an insider was quoted as saying in the Daily Star report.
As of this writing, there remains no further news about the cast who will be involved in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel.
