Kevin Love may miss the rest of the 2015 NBA playoffs, which begs the question: Who will help Lebron James in his quest to win his third championship ring and give the city its first?
The squad would be hard-pressed to replace Kevin Love who averaged 18.3 points and nine boards for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the series against the Boston Celtics. The three-point king was also hitting 47.4% from behind the arc, which stretches the floor for Lebron James to come crashing into the lane.
Lebron James and Kylie Irving will expect more resistance when they face either the Chicago Bulls or the Milwaukee Bucks, two of the best defensive teams in the league, as they go on a deeper run in the 2015 NBA playoffs.
"If the Bulls advance, out goes Boston's inexperienced frontcourt, in comes Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson," wrote Matt Dollinger for Sports Illustrated.
"Instead of Marcus Smart handling the ball, it'll be Derrick Rose. Jimmy Butler will be pressing James on both ends of the floor. The Bulls' top-10 offense will apply pressure for four quarters and they'll be able to draw on experiences learned from hardship and heartbreak before."
Kevin Love earlier accused Boston Celtics center Kelly Olynyk of deliberately dislocating his shoulder, which might effectively take him out of the series and probably out of the 2015 NBA playoffs.
"I thought it was a Bush League play," he said. "I mean, I was out there. Olynyk was in a compromising position, had no chance to get the ball."
"It's just too bad that he would go to those lengths to take somebody out of a game and do that to someone. I have no doubt in my mind that he did that on purpose."
Although the Cleveland Cavaliers won its first series in the 2015 NBA playoffs, Dollinger noted that "they won't feel fulfilled this year unless they win something else they failed to claim during his first time around."
