The "Fast & Furious 8" release date was revealed by Vin Diesel at the Universal's CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas, cited Variety. The film is set for April 14, 2017.

"It means a lot to me to get your blessing," said Diesel. "We were giddy and excited. You all gave me so much confidence. There was so much love."

Furthermore, as the "Fast & Furious" 8 release date has been confirmed, speculations are swirling about the role of Cody in the upcoming film. According to International Business Times, Cody might have a new role on "Fast & Furious 8" and he might not replace Paul Walker. In addition, the GuardianLV reported that Cody Walker is in talks with the franchise's producer.

"Cody Walker, the youngest brother of Paul Walker, is in talks with the producers of 'Fast and Furious' to star in the next film," it said.

The site added that, as of this writing, it is not yet confirmed whether he will replace his late brother, Paul Walker or he will get a new character. Moreover, he reportedly confirmed on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that he is not yet completely sure about his role.

"I got an idea, a sense of what Vin maybe wants to do in the future that this character could be a good part of it," he said. "We created somebody...he's 'Mr. Nobody' we never know his name and you never know quite what world he's in and I think that's what's fun and exciting about it.

Meanwhile, the "Furious 7" held the number one box office spot for three weeks and gained over $1.15 billion at the worldwide box office, which makes it the seventh highest grossing film of all time, according to Breath Cast.
