Koei Tecmo has announced the forthcoming western release of trap action title, "Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess," an updated version of "Deception IV: Blood Ties."
"The Nightmare Princess" is slated to come to the West for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita, Koei Tecmo announced. The game is scheduled to release in North America on July 14th and Europe on July 17th, according to SiliconEra.
"Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess" (known as Kagero: Another Princess in Japan) follows "Deception IV: Blood Ties", which centered on Laegrinna, a deceptive fragment of the Devil's soul. Laegrinna chose among Sadistic Torment, Elaborate Death or Humiliating Demise, in order to defeat her adversaries through trickery, PlayStationLifestyle noted.
Players will relive Laegrinna's entire pursuit to free her father, the Devil, from his eternal prison, and at the same time get introduced to Velguirie, an entirely new character who is "wickedly sadistic and infernally mischievous."
Velguirie And Quest Mode
Velguirie's story is covered with a shadow of mystery and the player will have to solve the one hundred quests in the brand new Quest Mode to find out who she really is.
According to Gematsu, the only sure bet is that Velguirie is an extremely dangerous creature that takes extreme pleasure in setting up sophisticated complex combinations of traps to lure her victims to their untimely death.
Velguirie has a unique set of abilities that evolves as certain quests are completed. But, that's not all; with an array of traps at her disposal, she can attempt to defeat the previous protagonists of the Deception series and add them to the player's arsenal.
Traps And Settings
There are more than 170 traps including rolling boulders and spring boards, falling bathtubs and banana peels that players can choose from to create the funniest, darkest, or most elaborated combos to defeat their enemies in delightfully imaginative settings that encompass amusement parks, playgrounds, hospitals, and medieval castles.
To get curious newcomers and expectant fans in the mood for mischief, Koei Tecmo has released a sinfully amusing live-action trailer, you can watch below:
