"Scandal" season 5 spoilers teased that a new gladiator will be joining Olivia Pope next season. Several reports claim that a guest star could be promoted as a series regular and will be joining the hit ABC series.
According to "Scandal" season 5 spoilers from TV Line, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) will be hiring a new gladiator to join Quinn (Katie Lowes) and Huck (Guillermo Diaz). Rumor has it that the new cast member is already a familiar face to "Scandal" fans.
"I hear the new hire will be a familiar face to Scandal watchers - i.e. it's a character Liv has previously crossed paths with (a guest star not a series regular)," the article said.
The decision to add a new cast member was in view of Columbus Short (Harrison) and Darby Stanchfield (Abby) leaving the show.
However, it has yet to be confirmed on who the new gladiator is. Design & Trend speculated that it could be Portia de Rossi (Elizabeth North), Lauren Bowles (Bellamy Young) or even "Girls" actress Lena Dunham.
Meanwhile, insiders from Hollywood News Daily speculated that Josie Marcus (Lisa Kudrow) could be the new gladiator.
"Since Marcus' political career is pretty much dead, it seems he could be a good asset to Olivia Pope's cause," it added.
Meanwhile, the latest episode of "Scandal" season 4, episode 21 called "A Few Good Women" will focus on Olivia Pope's continuous feud with the Grant administration now that she's working with Vice President Ross.
