Persistence apparently paid off from "Magic Mike XXL" actor Joe Manganiello in finally convincing fiancee Sofia Vergara into dating him.
Speaking to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," per Daily Mail, that she didn't want to go with the "True Blood" actor because she had just finished a relationship.
The "Modern Family" actress was referring to former fiance, Nick Loeb, whom she split last year.
"He seemed like a lot of work because so handsome and younger than me and like so sexy and whatever best bachelor or whatever he was," Sofia Vergara said of fiance Joe Manganiello. "And I'm like ugh. Just too much! But he convinced me. He flew to New Orleans and forced me on a date."
After the date, however, she realized what a great catch he was.
"I'm like he's a great guy, super fun, super normal and we have like - we click. Like it's super easy to hang out with him," she added.
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello got engaged in December last year after a whirlwind romance.
According to People, the couple got engaged in St. Regis Hotel in Hawaii. Although they were scheduled there for an appearance, the "True Blood" actor called ahead as part of his plan to propose.
"He didn't want to propose in a public setting, even though there are so many beautiful spots on the hotel grounds that have spectacular views and are well-known as places where people pop the question," the source told the magazine.
Joe Maganiello reportedly proposed in their suite which "has unobstructed views over the water and almost seems like you are floating on the ocean."
Joe Manganiello is four years younger than Sofia Vergara, and there's no wedding date set yet although the couple is already living together after the "True Blood" actor sold off his bachelor pad for $2 million.
