Microsoft Office 2016 Public Preview Now Available For Download; Features Include Real-time Co-Authoring, Tell Me, Insights And More

Microsoft has disclosed that the Office 2016 Public Preview build is now available for download to users, and the program is preloaded with new features.

"Since March, we've shared some glimpses of what's to come in Office 2016. Today we'd like to give a more holistic view of what customers at home and work can expect in the next release. In Office 2016, we're updating the Office suite for the modern workplace, with smart tools for individuals, teams, and business," wrote Jared Spataro, general manager for the Office marketing team.

Spataro added that Microsoft Office 2016 Public Preview build features real-time co-authoring in the Office Online apps, which allows a group who are working in Word 2016 or in Office online to see other editors working on the document in a real-time.

Another feature is the "Tell Me" tool that serves up the commands needed by typing what the user wants to do. The said feature is available in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

In addition, other new features of Office 2016 are: Insights that is powered by Bing and allows user to find information from the web "within the reading experience" and the Clutter, which de-clutters the inbox of the users and move it into Clutter folder.

There are also modern graphs and charts in the new build that the user can explore with, such as SunBurst, TreeMap, Waterfall, Histogram & Pareto and Box & Whisker.

Furthermore, the user will no longer worry as the Office 2016 will offer new security as the Data Loss Protection or DLP is now available in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

The IT admins, meanwhile, can manage, create and enforce policies for document sharing as well as content authoring.

To download the Microsoft Office 2016 Public Preview build, the user of computer should have a subscription version of Office 365, as reported by Indian Express.
