"Dark Souls 2" fans rejoice! A patch fixing the game's weapon durability bug has finally arrived.

A few weeks ago, fans of From Software's Bloodborne realized that the developer had created a way to make the game more challenging without players noticing. While some viewed the Hand Lantern that was designed to secretly reduce stamina regeneration as an annoyance, many others found it a tricky but a brilliant plot by the developer to make a hard game even more demanding.

While some gamers admired the developers creation in this case, the same can't be said about unexpected bug that has troubled players in another title by From Software, "Dark Souls 2" on PC, which has long suffered from what players dub the "the durability bug."

Players weapons' lost durability based on the game's frame rate as gamers with a faster frame rate have their weapons degrade at a faster pace.

Thankfully From Software seem to have finally fixed the issue. Several users on Reddit and Steam are posting that the awful bug is now trampled, according to records on GameRant.

A reading of the patch notes looks at the fix in more detail.

"Fixed issue whereby weapon durability was decreased drastically when used on enemy corpses, friendly characters, etc. (Especially apparent for users running the game at 60 fps as the durability decrease rate was lined to the frame rate.)"

Players who purchased the original version "Dark Souls 2" on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 didn't go through the problem as badly, simply because those consoles ran the game at a fixed 30 FPS. However, the next-gen and PC updated that supported faster frame rates left many players upset that they were having a worse experience with the game on what was to be a superior platform on the contrary.

These durability changes are only happening on PC, and "Scholars of the First Sin" as it categorically impacts running the game at 60 FPS.

In addition, several other minor fixes were included in this calibration patch, including the guard breaks, and the much-defamed sensitivity with jump attacks, IGN noted.
