5SOS Changes Tally Logo Due To Copyright Infringement; Fans Took To Twitter With #WeWantTheTallyBack Campaign

5SOS was recently forced to change its logo due to a copyright infringement complaint. The boys had to ditch their tally symbol and opt for a black and red skull.

According to Yahoo! Celebrity UK, a store called Undefeated was suing 5SOS for "copying" their design. The website pointed out that "the shop's logo is perhaps a bit more MS Paint that the band's version, [however], the boys' logo is too similar to the shop's logo for them to get away with, and they've been forced to design a new one."

Several fans were disappointed with the change given that the logo had inspired several tattoo ideas, including one on Ashton Irwin's wrist. The tally logo, which symbolized the four members of the band, with the fifth dash across representing the 5SOS fandom had captured the hearts of many. Some even took to Twitter with the hashtag #WeWantTheTallyBack as a campaign to bring back the old logo.

Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford are currently on their "Rock Out With Your Socks Out" world tour. As previously reported, the boys debuted their latest track called "Permanent Vacation" in the first leg of their world tour in Lisbon, Portugal last May 4.

Several websites have observed that the recent 5SOS tunes were very similar to Green Day's pop rock style which is very evident in their new song.

During the iHeart Radio Music Awards, 5SOS revealed that they were planning to release a new album this 2015. Guitarist Michael Clifford refused to give further details on when they will be releasing the track but assured 5SOS fans that it will be as soon as possible.

"We've written most of it, and we're recording it now. We'll release it when it's right, whether it's on the tour or at the end of the tour. New music will definitely be out this year," he said, via Fashion and Style.
