It seems as though the theme that is present in "That Winter, The Wind Blows" is death.
Oh Young is aware that she has brain cancer and that she does not have much time left. Suddenly, her older brother shows up in her life and they begin to spend the last remaining days of her life doing everything she wants to do.
Even though Oh Soo knows that with each step he takes to get close to her, the more danger he will face, he risks it all for Oh Young.
The scene where Oh Soo and Oh Young go to the mountain together showed the symbolism of the title, "That Winter, The Wind Blows" because they watch the wind blowing at the top of the mountain covered in white snow. The sound of the view was a present from Oh Soo.
In another scene from their trip to the mountain, Oh Young left her specially prepared cake for Oh Soo, for his birthday, Oh Soo wakes up and sees his gift and starts to eat it, his dialogue said, "If I was able to stop at that moment, I would have stopped then. Because my dangerous act to get close to Young... more than her, I was the one who was going to get terribly hurt, I was sure."
Sometime soon, Oh Young will find out that Oh Soo is not her real brother. Only time will tell what she will do about it when she finds out the truth.
Viewers are curious to see what kind of ending this drama will have since the theme of death constantly appears throughout each episode. Will there be happy ending for Oh Soo and Oh Young who only seem to be approaching death more and more as each episode ends?
