Dean Ambrose may be the new face of WWE as there is a possibility that The Lunatic Fringe will walk out of WWE Payback this weekend as the new world heavyweight champion.

While both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have made their marks in the WWE following the breakup of The Shield, Dean Ambrose has been the forgotten member of the trio. Despite the fact that Ambrose is more popular with the WWE Universe than Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are, he has not gotten the main-event push.

In fact, it looks like the World Wrestling Entertainment has done exactly the opposite of what they have done with Rollins and Reigns, as Ambrose's win at Extreme Rules marked his first win on WWE pay-per-view since The Shield broke up, according to reports on Inquisitr.

That said, things could change for the Lunatic Fringe this coming Sunday at WWE Payback when he takes part in the Fatal Four Way against "The Viper" Randy Orton and his previous Shield partners Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

No doubt, Ambrose brings a completely different dimension to the upcoming Main Event by raising the element of danger to the next level. Ambrose has the ability to change any wrestling match into a street fight with his occasional brawling attacks, Fansided noted.

Ambrose, who seems to be a perfect blend of Terry Funk, Foley and Roddy Piper, has what it takes to be a star. Although the Hall of Fame may be way off in the distance for him, if he is used and marketed right, he can get there.

Talking about the possibility of becoming the next WWE Champion and becoming the new face of WWE, during an weekly interview segment on WWE.com with Michael Cole, Ambrose noted that he didn't even go out of his way to be put in the position he is in right now.

"I just do my thing, and I'm really good," Ambrose added.

About joining legends such as Buddy Rogers, Bruno Sammartino, Pedro Morales, Bret Hart, Shawn Michael and people he studied and learned from, Ambrose said that after he could be the new face of WWE.

Several weeks ago, Kane told Rollins that The Authority made him the champion and they could have done the same with Dean Ambrose if they wanted to. Kane's comment to Rollins added fuel to speculations that Ambrose possibly would replace Rollins as The Authority's WWE Champion.

Although a small one, there is a chance that Ambrose will walk out of Payback as the new WWE world heavyweight champion.
