Micromax has formally revealed the successor for the first-gen Nitro series, which encompassed the A310 and A311 models.
The new device under Micromax Canvas series, dubbed 'Canvas Nitro 2" has gone on sale via an e-tailer in India. However, India's popular smartphone maker, Micromax did not reveal it formally until now.
The Canvas Nitro 2 features mid-range specs, and is currently available to buy at Rs. 10,399. The company launched the phone on Thursday, May 14, just a few days after launching YU Yuphoria.
Nitro 2 boasts of a 5-inch (12.7 cm) display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and pixels density of 294 pixels per inch, according to reports on IBN Live.
The Micromax Canvas Nitro 2 (E311) features a HD IPS display, making watching videos and other movie an exciting experience, as it shows a wider image from any angle up to 178 degrees. Users can leave behind their worries of their smartphone screen getting stained by oily fingerprints, thanks to its Oleophobic coating.
The device has a 13MP auto focus rear camera and a 5MP fixed focus camera. It has an internal storage space of 16GB, which is further expandable up to 32GB via a miscroSD card.
The only notable difference between Canvas Nitro (A311) and Canvas Nitro 2 (E311) is that the latter is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor and packs a 2400mAh battery. As far as the other specs of the new smartphone are concerned, they are identical to the Canvas Nitro (A311), NDTV Gadgets noted.
Micromax launched the Canvas Nitro (A310) in Sept. in India, and the device was priced at Rs. 12,900. The company then launched the Canvas Nitro A311 in Dec. priced at 13,574.
The Canvas Nitro 2 is a dual SIM device that runs Android KitKat and is available in Moondust Grey and Pristine White colors.
