While fans are looking forward to Conor McGregor versus the undefeated Jose Aldo clash, the UFC have released the official trailer of the highly anticipated fight.
UFC 189: Aldo vs. McGregor is expected to be one of the biggest pay-per-view events, and UFC boss Dana White said it will be everything that the recent Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao mega-fight wasn't.
"(MayPac) was typical boxing. They're never worried about the future of the sport. All they care about is how much money they can make right here, right now. That's not the way we look at it. (We're) trying to take things to the next level," Dana White said during a press event in Las Vegas on Friday, May 22.
White further added that the build-up for UFC 189 will be the biggest media spend the company has ever done. There will be 10 episodes of UFC 189 Embedded, plus a commercial for the event featured during the NBA Finals, and that's not all, the mixed-martial arts promotion company has plans for a 30-minute prime time television special called "Bad Blood: Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor," according to reports on Yahoo Sports.
"When you look at the Embedded series for the World Tour, it did over 13 million views, which smokes anything we've ever done with Embedded. We think Embedded leading up to this is going to do even better," White said.
The hype surrounding the fight ramped up a notch following the release of the UFC's official trailer for Aldo vs. McGregor. The fight has the MMA world talking and the UFC clearly sees its opportunity to make a plenty of cash from the bout, Independent noted.
The clip features UFC's Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor walking through Las Vegas, where the much-anticipated clash will go down in July. Contrary to most trailers, it doesn't show stoppages, highlight reel footage etc.
The bout is slated to happen at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on July 11.
