On May 23, the Malaysian online shopping company 11street released the first segment from an upcoming commercial which features Hallyu star Lee Min Ho and actress Emily Chan.
The series, called "Love at First Sight," depicts Lee as an aloof guy who brandishes an umbrella while walking the in the rain. Chan is instantly entranced by his presence but does not realize that he is disinterested in her. She assumes that he has fallen in love with her, at first sight. Instead, he focuses on a billboard which prominently displays an upcoming sale for 11street. The video is the first in a three-part comedy of errors which will focus on their interaction.
In April 2015, Chan and Lee were announced as brand ambassadors for 11street. Prior to the official announcement, the Malaysian actress posted a series of photos to Facebook, detailing her travel to Seoul for the video shoot with Lee.
"Love at First Sight" is the latest ad starring Lee, which explores the concept of a mini web series. His recent web drama for the cosmetic company, Innisfree, continues to generate attention. In the web drama, he continues to explore a love line with Yoona of Girls' Generation. He is involved in a public relationship with Suzy of the K-pop group Miss A, but he continues to successfully serve as a product representative with female stars.
His ability to increase endorsement opportunities following the announcement of his relationship with Suzy has demonstrated his unique appeal as a pan-Asian star. He continues to ride the success of his breakout role in the 2015 film noir, "Gangnam 1970," which has led to a Best New Actor nomination at the 51st Baeksang Arts Awards. He also led the popularity vote for Most Popular Actor in Film for the award ceremony, which will be held on May 26, 2015.
While fans of the actor are enthusiastic to see the results of the ceremony, they also were provided with the opportunity to see the star at his May 23 fan event for Guess.
