"KUWTK" star Kris Jenner coined the word momager and she apparently wants to rub the whole world's nose to that fact.
In a report from TMZ, the "KUWTK" matriarch reportedly filed legal documents so nobody else from hereon use the word "momager" to describe a mother managing the affairs of her children in the business.
"We found out Kris has filed legal docs to trademark the name 'momager' in the world of entertainment, which means anyone else who wants to use the description would need her permission, or else she could sue them," the article said.
"It looks like she'll get what she's gunning for, because Kris has already locked down trademarks for the term 'momager' for personal management services and for use in her reality show," the report added. "Apparently, Kris doesn't like imitators like Dina Lohan and Tina Knowles."
But Us Weekly reported that Kris Jenner applying for the "momager" trademark is more than just vanity or pettiness.
"It's the platform for a new lifestyle brand she is launching. Empowering moms/women/etc. It's the next layer for her. She's really quite genius. It will be called Momager," the source told the site.
The New York Times ran a profile of Kris Jenner which explains why the momager moniker fits her perfectly.
"She is an executive producer of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' and its summer spinoffs. She also manages the careers of all six of her children, as well as her own. Without Kris, Kim might not have pulled in a reported $28 million in 2014," the article said.
The article went on to add that without Kris Jenner, there would be no Kendall Jenner walking on the runways, no gaming app and book for Kanye West's wife, no Dash fashion stores, no commercials, no beauty line, no signature sock line for Rob Kardashian, no perfume products, and no "KUWTK."
The family knows the value of a trademark as momager Kris Jenner's daughters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, have also filed legal documents for the brand names, "Kendall and Kylie" or "Kylie & Kendall."
