The "Forever" series might have been cancelled by ABC but an online petition is still gaining more and more supporters which fueled rumors that the series could be saved by another network.

As reported by IB Times, ABC has decided to cancel "Forever" after only one season as it failed to live up to the studio's expectations. The website reported that the fans thought that the storyline was not to blame but the lack of marketing in the network's part.

"There is a great lack of excellent television these days," a supporter wrote on "Forever's" Facebook page.

"'Forever' is one that deserves another chance and better marketing to bring in more viewers. It is a gem of a show, and I would hate to see it discarded just because not enough people know of its existence."

The online petition to bring back "Forever" currently has over 27,000 supporters.

Show producer Matt Miller took to Twitter to announce that the series was being shopped around, giving hope to the fans of the ABC series.

"Nothing new to report at this moment. Show is actively being shopped by Warners stay tuned next week."

Ioan Gruffudd recently posted a heartfelt open letter to his Instagram account following the news about the cancellation.

"Tonight, as you all now know, I received a phone call that I was hoping not to receive, and to be honest I really wasn't expecting it," he wrote.

"I knew the ratings hadn't been great, but I also knew the studio and the network both loved the show, and of course that it had an incredible fan base...so I thought we were in with a pretty good chance. But sadly no, this time the cards weren't dealt in our favour."

"Show business is like that - hell, life is like that - you ride to the top of the wave and then you come crashing down again," he added.
