Bungie has found that not every player became legend in Destiny's new event "Trials of Osiris," as some players had their connections disrupted.

"Trials of Osiris," a new Destiny event went live just last week and it was without a doubt a big deal. It wasn't surprising to see tons of players participating in the much-anticipated event, hoping to win cool new gear, or gain access to a special exclusive new social hub.

Some players, however, were so desperate to win these rewards that they resorted to cheating, according to reports on Kotaku.

Widespread reports on social media forums and Reddit claimed that people were compelled to disconnect with the enemy team, thus relinquishing "Trials of Osiris" matches fully. By doing so, these players were giving out wins to the enemy team without actually intending to. The mode rewards people on the basis of number of wins, thus some players were upset that others had figured out a way to game the system for their own benefit.

This was an ugly scene as this ruined everyone's experience.

In its weekly update posted on the company's blog, Bungie has promptly addressed these concerns.

Community manager, DeeJ wrote, "Not everyone became legend in Trials of Osiris. There were reports that some of you had your connections interrupted. We're on the case!"

DeeJ noted that some players took foul action against their opponents: "Our intrepid team of investigators has diagnosed the most egregious cheaters among us. If you earned your victories by sinister means, you may very well have also earned a temporary (or permanent) time-out."

He further added, "Bungie is always watching. We enjoy a fair fight and we aim to protect the landscape of the game. Play nice!"

DeeJ also noted that some of the players who encountered the #Olive error were not really victims of shenanigans, "You just ran afoul of a bug (it's not your fault). As of this morning, that bug has been fixed. Your experience in the Crucible should greatly improve."

These efforts plan to help players with the dire situations in "Trials of Osiris," however it won't be an universal remedy. The cheating seems to be one part of the community's sour response to the previous Trials of Osiris event.

Also, considering that if someone pays for content, they should have free access to it, some players were upset because the gear was locked behind such a hardcore mode. Some players were unhappy about more skillful players that had already gained access to the new hub continued to play the mode, thus lowering everyone else's chances of doing the same.
