Selena Gomez has been the subject of fat shaming on social media but the "Come & Get It" singer appears to be very defiant. Meanwhile, the rumor mill is claiming that Justin Bieber's ex wants to star in an action film.
Two days ago, Selena Gomez posted on Instagram the food that they order at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. She captioned the image simply, "Today."
One fan expressed her support by writing, "Just do you @selenagomez - people need to stop with the hate and mostly stop hiding behind their phones and computers. 99.9% would never say the things they say online in the real world and that's a pretty scary thought... You're an inspiration to so many young girls around the world, including my niece and you carry yourself beautifully."
Another commented, "Hater gonna hate but Selena gonna slay."
The post was "liked" by more than 900,000 Instagram users.
Hollywood Life reported that Selena Gomez's defiance against the fat shaming is a deliberate act.
"The picture was more than just a typical food photo, which so many of us have taken," it said. "Selena's post can also be seen as a slap in the face to haters who have told her that she needs to slim down. Frankly, we think Selena has never looked sexier and people need to back off."
Also, a source told the website that Selena Gomez wanted to star in an action film.
The insider alleged, "She thinks it would be super cool and fun to star in an action movie. Selena says it would be therapeutic to play a character that kicks some major butt! She loves Charlize Theron and her ability to play such intense, complex roles."
Previously, Selena Gomez addressed the fat shaming by slamming a Twitter user for telling her to stop eating junk food.
She wrote, "You're disgusting. IM IN the business and I could care less about what 'they' or you say I should look like. I don't need to do anything other than love myself, take care of my work, fans, family and friends."
