"Batman V Superman" actor Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were snapped looking quite glum during a family stroll on May 28, and the tabloids quickly pounced on the picture as proof to support the divorce rumors.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the photograph was an "obvious attempt" to make it appear that they are a happy couple.

In the photo, Ben Affleck can be seen carrying Seraphina, 6, on his broad shoulders while 9-year-old Violet was holding hands with Jennifer Garner as they ordered frozen yogurt at Menchie's in Santa Monica, California.

"This is the first time in a long time that Ben and Jennifer have been spotted out in public, and we are sure that this very public outing was their poor attempt at making everyone believe that their marriage was not on the rocks," the article said.

CDL observed that the "Batman V Supeman" actor and the "Danny Collins" actress "looked miserable" in the photos.

OK! magazine also took note how Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are both silent in light of all the rumors about their impending divorce.

"The actress, 43, landed in Canada on May 31 to shoot her movie, Nine Lives, and was seen looking glum-and makeup-free-while talking on her cell phone," it said.

The paparazzi, in fact, asked for her reaction to the divorce rumors while she was in Montreal but she declined to answer their questions as she reportedly waved them off saying, "Please don't talk to me."

"The pair was last seen in Santa Monica on May 28 with two of their children while out for ice cream, though they did not seem to be too happy," OK! added.

According to the National Enquirer, per Daily Mail, Ben Affleck is allegedly headed for a $150 million divorce from wife Jennifer Garner.

And Ben Affleck reportedly wanted to make the divorce announcement as soon as possible so that the media frenzy would have died down before the release of "Batman V Superman."
