Ellen Degeneres is allegedly quitting from her daytime show for Portia De Rossi. Several reports claimed that the “Scandal” actress wanted the comedienne to retire so they can focus on their marriage.
According to Radar Online, Portia De Rossi was "pressuring" Ellen to quit "The Ellen Degeneres Show." Turns out, she actually gave in to her wife's request and will no longer be renewing her contract.
"Ellen's contract is up in 2017 and she has told her staff that she does not know if she is going to renew it," the said. "Everyone on the staff is just freaking out over this."
Insiders close to the couple claim that Portia wanted Ellen to focus on their relationship. She felt that their marriage have taken the backseat since she's putting too much of her time in the talk show.
"[Portia] asked Ellen to not renew her contract so that she can be a better wife to her. She told her that she needs to focus on her family."
The insider added that the "Scandal" actress has been taking it out on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" staff.
"When Portia comes into the studio lately, she is not as nice to everyone as she used to be. She seems to really resent the show and everyone who works there."
Portia also claims that Ellen doesn't need to work anymore for she has already amassed more money than she can spend in a lifetime.
"Ellen does not need to do the show anymore because she has more money than God. And Portia told her that she has already interviewed everyone there is to interview and the act just seems to be getting old."
Kdramastars have reported that Ellen Degeneres and Portia De Rossi have long been having marital issues and were allegedly heading for a divorce. Ellen, however, continued to deny such allegations, calling them "ridiculous" an interview with Matt Lauer on the "Today Show."
"I'm just more flabbergasted by the fact that someone needs to make up a story. There's never been a point where we were breaking up or divorcing or fighting."
