The chance of Roman Reign winning the ladder match at WWE Money in the Bank PPV just became dimmer as WWE added "The Big Red Monster" Kane to the match as the seventh participant.
One of the most exciting WWE pay-per-view (PPV), "The Money in the Bank" is slated to take place on Sunday, June 14, at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The winner of the ladder match is guaranteed a match against the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion i.e. Seth Rollins whenever he decides to cash in his contract.
From former WWE Superstar Edge cashing in the very first Money in the Bank contract on John Cena at New Year's Revolution back in 2005, to the most recent Seth Rollins cashing in his contract on both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31, fans have seen some of the most memorable cash-ins over the years.
What makes Money in the Bank ladder match more exciting is that nobody knows what to expect.
At the Elimination Chamber event, the World Wrestling Entertainment announced six participants including Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Neville, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus, and Dolph Ziggler for the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match.
Wrestling fans and the WWE Universe were quick to assume that Reigns would emerge as the winner of the match, and it's easy to see why. That being said, it looks like WWE is slated to do something really unexpected this time though.
This past Thursday on SmackDown, The Authority member Kane was added to the Money in the Bank ladder match, Inquisitr noted.
Adding Kane to the mix brings up the total number of superstars in the match to seven, and by the looks of it, WWE might add an eight superstar to bring it up to an even number. If speculations are anything to go by, Finn Balor may end up being the final man added to the match.
The company is planning to have Kane and Rollins lock horns eventually, so there is a possibility that Kane may win the Money in the Bank briefcase. That being said, Kane as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at this point in his career would hardly serve any purpose.
Judging by Kane's past actions, it looks like his purpose in the match will be to make people think that Reigns won't be taking home the briefcase.
In a related news, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil, The Prime Time Players duo are slated to square off against the Tag Team Champions, The New Day for the WWE Tag Team title at Money in the Bank, according to records on What Culture.
Prime Time Players won a triple threat match against The Ascension and Lucha Dragons on SmackDown to earn their spot.
