According to the June 7 report from Nielsen Korea (Nielsen AGB), "Producer" recorded 13.4 percent of nationwide viewership for its June 6 episode. The series increased its audience by 1.7 percent from the June 5 episode, which recorded 11.7 percent of nationwide viewers. This was the second highest rating recorded by the docu-drama, following its May 30 episode, which was watched by 13.5 percent of audiences.
By contrast, the drama recorded its highest viewership to date on the TNmS rating scale, capturing 13.8 percent of viewers in their sample size.
Ratings for both scales are reported daily and evaluate programming per-episode, not on a weekly basis. "Producer" airs on Fridays and Saturdays in the 9:15 (21:15) p.m. KST time slot. It should be noted that drama is evaluated against variety and talk shows in its Friday night time slot, due to the absence of other dramas airing at the same time. However, "Producer" runs concurrently with weekend dramas on Saturday nights.
Episode 8 started off with a kiss and concluded with Baek Seung Chan (Kim Soo Hyun) facing a decision which could determine the course of his love line. While episode 7 focused on the tragic backstory of Cindy (IU), the June 6 episode provided bonding opportunities for its central characters. Particularly notable was the formation of the tentative friendship between Cindy and Tak Ye Jin (Gong Hyo Jin).
The episode was also highlighted by a cameo appearance from actress Go Ara (You're All Surrounded). Go portrayed a former child star and K-pop idol, who was Cindy's rival.
Female relationships were strengthened, but tensions rose between Seung Chan and Ra Joon Mo (Cha Tae Hyun) during their soccer face-off.
MBC's "Flower of the Queen" received 13.0 percent of nationwide viewers. The series stars Lee Jong Hyuk (A Gentleman's Dignity) as the first son of a conglomerate family. He is attracted to Rena Jung, a striving celebrity chef. Kim Sung Ryong (The Fatal Encounter, Heirs) portrays Jung.
"Jingbirok," the KBS1 period series recorded 12.1 percent of viewership.
The KBS2 weekend drama, "Bluebird House," which airs in an earlier time slot, recorded 21.3 percent of viewers.
