The Simpsons' creators have announced that after 25 years of trying and failing to end Bart Simpson, Sideshow Bob will finally get his wish.

This fall on the fan-favorite American animated sitcom, The Simpsons, Kelsey Grammer is slated to return to voice Sideshow Bob, the baritone, scene-stealing maniac. However, instead of heinous plan being curbed at the last moment, this time Bob will actually kill Bart Simpson, according to Entertainment Weekly.

On Saturday, June 6, the show's producers revealed the news during their ATX Festival panel in Austin, Texas. Al Jean, the executive producer of the show said he always wanted to see the Coyote get the Road Runner in the classic Looney Tunes cartoons.

Talking about Bart's execution, Jean told EW, "I hated frustration comedy so we'll scratch that itch."

"So Bob will finally somehow actually execute Bart-and then won't know what to do with himself after his life's mission has been accomplished," Jean added.

Die-hard fans don't need to worry as Bart will spring back to life after the advert break as this would be a self-contained Halloween episode. The new series will mark the return of Spider Pig along with an episode based on the Oscar-nominated movie "Boyhood," with the spotlight on Bart, Telegraph noted.

Homer, in another episode is diagnosed with narcolepsy, and as a result, he and Marge go their separate ways. Homer then falls in love with his pharmacist, voiced by Girls star Lena Dunham.

Bob was first introduced in The Simpsons in 1990, and he began his quest to kill Bart Simpson in 1993 in the "Cape Feare" episode.

There was no update about long time voice actor Harry Shearer, who announced his departure from the show recently. Shearer voiced multiple characters including Ned Flanders and Mr. Burns. The Simpson's team is still trying to work out a new deal with Shearer.
