Cartoon Network has revealed at Licensing Expo in Las Vegas the first glimpse of its overhauled "Powerpuff Girls" series with some new artwork.

Though the beloved world savers Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup look pretty much the same in the revamped series, the voice cast is all-new.

While "The Fosters" star Amanda Leighton will be voicing Blossom, Kristen Li will voice Bubbles and Natalie Palamides will be taking on Buttercup. Tom Kenny, who voiced the Mayor/Narrator in the original series, will reprise his role.

Rob Sorcher, chief content officer at Cartoon Network confirmed, "It has been wonderful to see this new show team bring such passion and positive creative spirit to this iconic property."

"We know that fans of every age will appreciate this new take on saving the world before bedtime," Sorcher added.

The reimagined series will center on the original trio of crime-fighting school girls Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup who save the world from villains before bedtime. No information was revealed regarding the foes the girls will be fighting in "The Powerpuff Girls." Fans will need to wait and watch if the girls will still be squaring off against familiar baddies like Mojo Jojo and HIM or if they'll be battling all-new foes

The first look and the announcement comes a year after the network revealed their plans to reboot the series. "The Powerpuff Girls" ran for 78 episodes from 1998 to 2004, Mashable noted.

Emmy-winner Nick Jennings (Adventure Time) is executive producing with Bob Boyle (Wow! Wow! Wubzy!) as co-exec producer, IGN noted.

The original "Powerpuff Girls" series was created back in 1996 by Craig McCracken, and it went on to win two Emmy Awards during its 78-episode run. The series also gave rise to a video game and a film in 2002.

The new series is coming to Cartoon Network in 2016.
