On June 11, CJ E&M announced the launch of the Korean beauty program, "Hyoyeon's One Million Likes." Hyoyeon, a member of the popular K-pop group Girls' Generation, will lead audiences through a myriad of style transitions.
The feedback she receives through Instagram and SNS will serve as a barometer for how her fans respond to style changes. Hyoyeon is challenged to receive 1 million likes on her social media, as she tries out new beauty products, explores fashion trends, and eats different types of food.
The first episode will focus on her latest hairstyle, an edgy bob cut. She received an overwhelmingly positive response to her hairstyle, garnering more than 1 million likes on Instagram.
"Hyoyeon's One Million Likes" follows the April 2015 launch of the SNS-based program, "Heart_a_tag." Produced by CJ E&M, "Heart_a_tag" starred Girls' Generation member Tiffany and "Korea's Next Top Model Guys & Girls" winner Lee Cheol Woo. The show combined information and entertainment (infotainment) through its exploration of celebrity fashion.
The members of Girls' Generation continue to explore the opportunities in acting and fashion when they are not releasing new music. Yoona is currently starring in the Chinese period drama, "God of War Zhao Yun."
Girls' Generation will return to the United States in August 2015, as part of the star-studded lineup at KCON NY 2015.
"Hyoyeon's One Million Likes" premieres on June 12. The SNS-based program will air on CJ E&M's OnStyle, YouTube, and the designated Instagram account, @hy100mlike. Viewers can also tune in through her personal account, @watasiwahyo.
