Zayn Malik will go head to head with his former band members of One Direction in the Teen Choice Awards for Fashion Choice Male Hottie.

"At this year's Teen Choice Awards, die-hard fans of One Direction have been asked to do the unthinkable... choose between the band and ex-member Zayn Malik," noted Daily Mail.

Zayn Malik quit One Direction in March this year reportedly because he wanted to spend more time with Perrie Edwards. But his departure was tied to the cheating rumors when the band performed in Thailand and the 22-year-old was snapped getting frisky with a beautiful blonde.

"There is no word yet on whether the band or Zayn will be making an appearance at the event, which is set to take play on August 16 in Los Angeles," the publication added.

Aside from Zayn Malik and One Direction, others who are nominated for the Fashion Choice Male Hottie are Justin Bieber, Austin Mahone, 5 Seconds of Summer and Ryan Guzman.

In an interview after quitting One Direction, Perrie Edwards' fiance told The Sun, per E! News, that he found so much control in his life now and it's "quite interesting."

"I feel like I'm doing what's right, and right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good," he said. "I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people's happiness-and that was mainly the fans."

Zayn Malik is reportedly carving a solo career and working with Naughty Boy for a new track.

"And I only ever tried to do it for the fans, and it was only ever for them. And, basically, I'm only upset I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way. That's the main thing that I don't want to happen," Zayn Malik added.
