In Hollywood, it would be so easy for a couple to quit but that's not the case with Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden who are working to save their marriage.
According to OK! magazine, Cameron Diaz ran to BFF Drew Barrymore for help when she had a fight with "The Voice" Australia coach Benji Madden.
"Drew said Cam should let Benji know he's the most important man in her life and keep his ego padded," the source said.
And Cameron Diaz listened as the insider added, "She's taking Drew's advice seriously. She wants to stay happily married."
Drew Barrymore just celebrated her third wedding anniversary to art consultant Will Kopelman. Her troubled childhood was well chronicled with two stints in rehab as she got hooked to drugs and alcohol even before her first menstruation.
Speaking about marriage to New York Daily News, Cameron Diaz's BFF said, "He's my home now ... It makes me almost want to cry. He's the father of my child, and I'm the mother of his child. I'm finally a part of a family, and it's a miracle."
The word commitment also has a different appeal for her.
"I want to be that kind of mother. I'm that kind of friend. I'm that kind of producer. I do everything in this life-or-death way," she said. "The only thing I've tried to get better at is starting to believe maybe it's not life or death. But the [level of] commitment hasn't changed or wavered."
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden tied the knot in January this year. Immediately thereafter, their marriage was hounded by divorce rumors prompted allegedly by their busy schedules and her fear of becoming a mother.
In an interview with Esquire, Drew Barrymore's BFF said that having children is so much work.
"To have lives besides your own that you are responsible for - I didn't take that on... A baby - that's all day, every day for 18 years," she said. "Not having a baby might really make things easier, but that doesn't make it an easy decision. I like protecting people, but I was never drawn to being a mother."
