The ratings for "Producer" have continued to rise, as the series begins to reach its conclusion. According to a report released by Nielsen Korea, the June 14 episode of "Producer" recorded 14.6 percent of nationwide viewership. This was an increase of 2.0 percent from its June 13 episode. The drama also reached a series record with 15.4 percent of viewers tuning in from Seoul.
While the ninth episode reflected a shift in dynamics between the new and the old, episode 10 focused on the potential of the main characters to make changes within their lives. Baek Seung Chan (Kim Soo Hyun) is initially dissuaded by a conversation he overhears between Ra Joon Mo (Cha Tae Hyun) and Tak Ye Jin (Gong Hyo Jin). However, he courageously confronted his crush, by kissing Ye Jin.
Viewers have continued to tune in, as the series clearly defines the love lines. Ninth episode clearly demonstrated that there was little possibility of a relationship with the Umbrella Couple and the tenth episode also reaffirmed this. The plot has fully developed in a noona or older woman romance, leaving Cindy (IU) in the dust.
A report published by the Korean outlet Hankooki Ilbo, focused on fluctuating ratings of "Producer" and the variety shows that were airing in similar time slots on Fridays. The series has continuously yielded better ratings for its Saturday programs when it has aired against other Korean dramas. However, "Producer" was initially marketed as a docu-drama series that would heavily focus on variety show elements. Audiences delivered mixed responses to the original format but flocked to the series as it shifted towards a recognizable K-Drama structure. The 12-episode run of "Producer" will conclude on June 20.
