Ridley Scott has revealed an interesting new piece of info about what he plans for the upcoming sequel to "Prometheus," as he teases a new kind of alien.
The sequel to the 2012 science fiction film "Prometheus," directed by Ridley Scott, is expected to bring more answers to questions that were left unanswered in the earlier film. New monsters are expected to appear, along with a new setting for the story.
Though has not made any official announcement yet, sources close to the matter say that the working title of Prometheus 2 is "Prometheus 2: Hell on Earth."
Judging by the title, it seems that the film will be based on earth at least to a certain extent.
Android David (Michael Fassbender) who was decapitated in the first movie and Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace), will be back to reprise their roles. David, however might come back just as a head. Moreover, if reports are anything to go by, Dr. Shaw's character might die sometime within the movie, paving the way for the entry of a new female character, VC Post noted.
As far as the new movie plot is concerned, it is said to be divided into three parts. In its concluding part, Dr. Shaw along with David will reportedly look for "Paradise," the home of the Engineers. Rumors doing rounds suggest that a discovery about the Engineers' origins will unveil as they will reveal to be creation of a much superior force.
Another report on CrossMap cites Scott's previous announcement to confirm that xenomorphs won't be coming back on "Prometheus 2: Hell on Earth." However, there's still no official word as to whether it will come back.
In an attempt to avoid any overlaps with "Alien 5" and "Predator," Scott sat down with Neill Blomkamp as well as Nimrod Antal in order to discuss about their films and to ensure that each movie is going to be different from the other. Antal also confirmed that Prometheus 2 will simply be a part of a trilogy, apparently hinting that Scott also has "Prometheus 3" in mind.
"Prometheus 2: Hell on Earth" is believed to have 2 other types of alien spieces that will bear resemblance to the xenomorphs.
Scott himself reportedly confirmed that new elements to the movie will be added, however Xenomorphs will not appear in the upcoming installment. This time the two new alien species might reportedly not be the enemies.
A clarification between LV-223 and LV-426 will soon be establised in Prometheus 2 as well. Speculations suggest that the two moons are actually connected as they are said to orbit the planet Calpamos, and were also used by the Engineers. In the first movie, USCSS Prometheus visited the LV-2233 moon, and LV-246 was the moon visited by Nostromo in the movie Alien.
There are no official announcements regarding the upcoming film's cast, setting, or synopsis. The film is not yet associated with a release date, but the film is rumored to hit theaters on March 4, 2016.
