Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have been circling each other following their split in 2013, but this time the "KUWTK" star reportedly came to her ex-husband's side after the death of the former Los Angeles Lakers' star's childhood friend, Jamie Sangouthai.
According to Hollywood Life, after learning of the death of Lamar Odom's best friend, Khloe Kardashian immediately tracked him down to comfort him.
A source told the site, "She's been amazing listening to Lamar's pain being a shoulder to cry on. She's been his emotional rock during this heartbreaking tragedy. Lamar can't talk without bawling his eyes out. He's been crying all night and day. It's so so sad."
Lamar Odom has seen his fair share of death involving his loved ones. When he was still 12 years old, her mother, Cathy Mercer, died of colon cancer; in 2004, the grandmother who raised him also passed away.
Just two years later, his 7-month-old son Jayden died in an accident.
Basketball has become a refuge for Lamar Odom, but when he was released by the Los Angeles Lakers and struggled to find his groove on the court with the New York Knicks, his personal life spiraled. Various reports point to his substance abuse and cheating as the cause of his split from Khloe Kardashian.
"Khloe's hope is that Jamie's death is a real wake up call for Lamar," Hollywood Life said. "A reminder that life is short and he needs to make the most out of every minute of it. Khloe and Lamar have wasted so much time and energy dealing with his demons. She really hopes Lamar wakes up and starts living life like it's precious."
Although Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from Lamar Odom, she didn't submit additional papers to the Los Angeles County Court prompting the judge to issue an ultimatum to throw out the case. In an interview with TMZ, the athlete expressed optimism that he would get back together with the "KUWTK" star eventually.
