“Bones” season 11 spoilers revealed that the premiere episode will focus on Booth and Brennan’s relationship. In the season 10 finale, fans saw the couple leaving the Jeffersonian, which made some fans wonder if it could be the end for the FOX series.
In the "Bones" season 10 finale episode titled "The Next in the Last," viewers were surprised by Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan's (Emily Deschanel) decision to leave the Jeffersonian in order to start a new life with their family. During the hunt for notorious serial killer Christopher Pelant, the couple realized that this is not the environment they want their children to grow up in.
Executive producer Stephan Nathan revealed that season 11 of "Bones" will definitely take a different story arc. He mentioned that even the writers are still unsure on how the story would progress. Nathan also revealed that the season 10 finale episode was written before they were given the news that the series would be renewed.
"We had to do an episode that would be worthy of our audience that had committed to us for so many years," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "We also somehow had to have that vibe in the show that it could continue for another 10 years. It was really walking a tight rope. Hopefully, we did it [because] I don't think there's a net."
When asked if Booth and Brennan would even consider going back to the Jeffersonian, the executive producer said that the entire cast would be together again. The viewers just have to give it more time.
"From a practical standpoint, we can't build another permanent set. We were told it was the biggest permanent set every built for a television show - so they are going to be back on that set," Nathan told the website.
"The mystery and the fun of Season 11 is how is this team going to reassemble. How is life going to go on? At what point do we pick them up?"
