Serena Williams have been dominating the world of women's tennis since the early 2000, but teaming up with Patrick Mouratoglou, who is rumored to be her boyfriend, proved to be a masterstroke in injecting life into her career.
Looking back, the world's no. 1 hasn't won a Grand Slam since 2010 and was bounced from the opening round against unheralded Virginie Razzano during the French Open.
"This is when she decided to practice at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy, run by Patrick Mouratoglou, and get back to the form that saw her win 13 majors," said The Roar.
"She hired the coach and it turned out to be a stroke of genius as the American has since gone on to win seven Grand Slams in the last 12 majors she has entered taking her overall tally to 20."
Since teaming up with rumored boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou, Serena Williams won her fifth Wimbledon, won an Olympic gold medal, three US Open titles, three French Open titles, her sixth Australian Open title and stayed alone at the no. 1 of ATP World Tennis Women's Ranking.
"Williams has been ranked first since the 18th of February 2013 - 121 weeks and counting and is oldest woman in the open era to hold the ranking. Now with 20 majors in under her belt, Williams' quest for Steffi Graf's open-era record of 22 continue, and at this ferocious pace she could have that number come September at this year's US Open," the article added.
And Serena Williams, with the help of rumored boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou, is the odds-on favorite heading into the Wimbledon.
According to Sports Book, Serena Williams remains at +160 to win the Women's Wimbledon.
In an article by Globe and Mail, coach Patrick Mouratoglou weighs in on Serena Williams winning a calendar-year Grand Slam.
He said, "That's probably the most difficult thing to do in tennis but it's possible."
