Fans of "Wayward Pines" will be delighted to know that the Fox series could be having a season 2. It was said that although the season 1 finale will provide a satisfying ending, there is a probability that the Fox series would go on.
Speaking to TV Line, executive producer Chad Hodge hinted that "Wayward Pines" could be renewed for another season.
"There's a hint of [future possibilities], but 'Wayward Pines' was always designed to be just these 10 episodes. So the promise that we've been making - which is that there's a beginning, middle and end in these 10 episodes - is a real promise and we deliver on it," he explained.
"Could there be a possibility of a Season 2? Sure, of course, and you'll see a window to that, but it also is a complete ending as it is."
Hodge also revealed what fans could expect in the "Wayward Pines" season 1 finale. He shared that although they have tried to stay faithful to the book, there were still several modifications that needed to be done.
"I think [viewers will] find it very similar to the books with a few tweaks here and there," he said.
"Again, the First Generation is not a part of the books in the way that it is in the series, and they figure in in a major way in the ending. So there are some differences. But globally and schematically and mythology-wise, it's all the same."
Hodge added that the producers have worked closely with author Blake Crouch to ensure that they have not missed anything significant that could potentially upset the viewers.
"I'm very close to Blake Crouch, the author, and everything was sort of put through his filter the entire time," he shared.
"Wayward Pines" season 1 airs 9 p.m. on Fox. Tune in for more spoilers, news and cast updates.
