Brock Lesnar shocked the WWE Universe and Seth Rollins with his return to the squared ring this past Monday, as "The Beast Incarnate" is all set for his rematch for the WWE title at the Battleground PPV on July 19.
Seth Rollins is scheduled to defend his WWE world heavyweight championship belt against "The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar at WWE Battleground, and it's without a doubt the biggest match of The Architect's career.
Rollins has dominated WWE television as its lead heel to this point, and his character development over the last year rivals that of any superstar on the roster. Moreover, not many superstars have continuously delivered in the main event matches like Rollins has.
Working with the likes of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and John Cena is one thing, but to be regarded worthy of competing against Lesnar is another.
When Rollins squares off against Lesnar inside the squared circle, it will cement his position as one of the main line stars in today's WWE. In addition, it will also be a career-defining match that very few Superstars ever have the opportunity to enjoy, Bleacher Report noted.
Regretfully for Rollins the defining bout is wasted on a B-level PPV event at WWE Battleground 2015.
Lesnar has been off of WWE TV since March, but last week WWE decided to bring back Lesnar one week earlier than expected. Lesnar was originally slated to make his return to WWE television on Monday Night Raw in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Other reports from Inquisitr noted that Rollins and Lesnar will have a rematch at SummerSlam, further implying that the rumored Rollins vs. Triple H match won't be happening any time soon.
This clearly indicates that Lesnar could very well end up winning the WWE heavyweight championship at SummerSlam or Battleground.
After Rollins cost Lesnar another successful WWE world heavyweight championship defense when he cashed in Money in the Bank and pinned Roman Reigns, it was only fitting that WWE lets feud between the two build over the next two months.
This could have led to a truly epic showdown between "The Beast Incarnate" and the self-proclaimed "Undisputed Future of the WWE."Lesnar could have easily stood atop the company again as its conquering beast.
Unfortunately for Rollins, the match has been booked for a second-rate show that hardly anyone will remember by the end of the year. Battleground's sole purpose is to lay foundation for SummerSlam.
However, there seems to be a reason why WWE is missing out on something with that much potential.
According to recent booking, the mounting tension between Rollins and The Authority will lead to a clash between the Architect and Triple H at SummerSlam.
Nevertheless, Rollins is that rare heel around whom an entire show can be built.
