Google has finally addressed one of users' most serious concerns as the Web giant has rolled out the 'Undo Send' option for Gmail, allowing users to recall a message within 30 seconds of it being sent.

Gmail officially unveiled its 'Undo Send' button on Monday, June 22 to save its users from unintentionally sending emails to the wrong recipients.

The feature was launched in Google Labs back in 2009, and just less than a month ago, it was added to inbox by Google, and however the search engine giant has finally introduced the feature to its web users.

The button enables users to set a cancellation time from 5 to 30 seconds in case they have second thoughts immediately after sending. Google is calling this feature a "grace period," ABC News noted.

By default, the feature is turned off for those not currently using the Labs version; however it can be enabled easily from the General tab in Gmail settings. However, if the sender doesn't cancel, the email will be automatically transmitted after the delay expires.

Those using the Labs version of 'Undo Send' have the settings turned on by default at launch.

Other Gmail features available via "Labs" include an unread message icon, a Google Calendar widget, customer keyboard shortcuts as well as Goggle Maps previews inside of messages. In order to test out some of those features, users will need to manually enable each one and then hit "Save Changes" at the bottom of the Gmail Labs website, according to reports on Forbes.

It's crucial to use this feature with caution as the 'Undo Send' option will come to naught even if a user click on a link within Gmail before the recall time expires. Moreover, the 'Undo Send' feature may not also work when a user experiences connection issues.

It's worth noting that the feature cannot pull back an email that's already gone. It simply holds the message for 5 to 30 seconds depending on the grace period chosen by the user.
