Serena Williams is feeling no pressure as she goes on a historic run under the mentorship of Patrick Mouratoglou, her coach and rumored boyfriend.
The world's no. 1 is on a quest to bring her grand slam victories to four consecutive years at the Wimbledon, and bring her final tally to 21.
"Personally, it doesn't make it feel any different which I think is a good thing because I don't feel any pressure to win all four [in the same year]," Serena Williams said.
"I've been saying that, but I really don't feel that pressure. Maybe if I would happen to win here, then maybe I might start feeling it after that. Ultimately, I'm taking it one day at a time and I'm not thinking that far."
Serena Williams has teamed up with Patrick Mouratoglou, who is rumored to be her boyfriend, to resuscitate a fledging career after failing to win a grand slam since 2010.
Since teaming up with rumored boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou, Serena Williams won her fifth Wimbledon, won an Olympic gold medal, three US Open titles, three French Open titles, her sixth Australian Open title and stayed alone at the no. 1 of ATP World Tennis Women's Ranking.
She said, "I think the fact that I lost so early the past couple years definitely makes me motivated but that also gives me a little less pressure. It makes me feel like: 'OK, I'll be fine.' I have nothing to lose here. I don't have many points to defend here. So it's just like trying to have fun, go through it.
Serena Williams and Patrick Mouratoglou have been training at the house of golf legend Jack Nicklaus as they prepare for the Wimbledon.
"It was one American sporting great doing another a favor as golf superstar Nicklaus, a tennis enthusiast and regular guest at Wimbledon, encouraged Williams and sister Venus to use the grass courts at his North Palm Beach home in Florida," reported Daily Mail.
