"Real Housewives of Atlanta" fans may have mixed reactions on NeNe Leakes leaving the show after eight years.
NeNe Leakes admitted that she consulted her husband about the decision, and that leaving "Real Housewives of Atlanta" is something that was not easy for her.
"This was definitely a hard decision for me," Leakes reportedly told People. "Me and my husband [Gregg Leakes] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things."
Though it was a difficult decision to make, NeNe admitted that leaving the show brought her relief.
"I feel a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders," the actress said.
NeNe Leakes has been open that she will be working on other new projects after leaving "Real Housewives of Atlanta." One of which is a series that she would reportedly begin filming.
"I'm actually going to be doing a new primetime television show with a big legend," Leakes revealed. "All of my fans will get to see me be really happy, witty and funny and tell all of those one liners that I always have said on Housewives."
Even before NeNe Leakes decided to leave "Real Housewives of Atlanta," Radar Online reported about rumors that she could be given a spin-off reality show. However, NeNe and Bravo producers are yet to announce any such projects as of the moment.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail said Kenya Moore purportedly hinted that she might be glad that NeNe Leakes left "Real Housewives of Atlanta."
During a Twitter Q&A, A fan reportedly asked Kenya Moore if she was "glad that NeNe is leaving the show." Kenya Moore reportedly answered: "I'm glad I'm blessed and that I have my health."
