Looks like UFC champ Fabricio Werdum wants Jon Jones to make the jump for a "super fight" if and when the former lightweight champion returns to the Octagon.

Since Jon Jones got his UFC light heavyweight title stripped and was suspended indefinitely in May, "Bones" has been mostly quite. However, Jones name is once again coming up in super fight rumors though he is not even being reinstated yet.

After capturing the UFC heavyweight title by submitting Cain Velasquez at UFC 188 a few weeks back, Fabricio Werdum has lots of options to entertain as far as his next fight is concerned.

Besides potential championship contests against UFC heavy-hitters such as Junior dos Santos, Stipe Miocic, and Andrie Arlovski, it looks like Werdum wouldn't mind entertaining a "super fight" against Jon Jones, MMA Mania noted.

Considering that former champion Cain Velasquez was often linked to a fight against Jones, and now Werdum seem to be stealing that thunder away from him.

Werdum took to his Twitter seeking his fans' opinion of a super fight with Jon Jones.

Jones too has discussed a super fight in the past; however the talk always focused on former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. That being said, Werdum could probably be an even bigger problem for Jones in case he moved up as unlike Velasquez, Jones will not only be outweighed by a wide margin but also wouldn't have a crucial height advantage, SportsWorldNews noted.

Jones is also linked to a super fight with undefeated middleweight champion Chris Weidman, who is slated to face Luke Rockhold in his next fight, but has cleaned out the majority of his weight class.

A Jon Jones vs. Fabricio Werdum match is likely to stay in fantasy land until Jones earns his way back to the UFC, which may take a long time. Besides crashing his car in a hit-and-run that injured a pregnant woman, Jones earned bad press after fight Daniel Cormier in Jan., when it was revealed that he had failed a drug test before the bout.

Jones reappeared on social media few weeks ago smiling, however people close to "Bones" have ruled out that he will never return to the Octagon.

Jones coach Mike Winkeljohn said, "I'm looking forward to Jon turning his life around and becoming a better person. Is he fighting again or not?"

I'm not sure. That's not important. What is important right now is that Jon takes care of himself and his family," Winkeljohn added.
