Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton may be viewed by many as the two closest persons to Prince William and Kate Middleton. And after not being chosen as Prince George's godparents during his christening, there were speculations that they may be godfather and godmother to Princess Charlotte. However, it seems that the two didn't make the cut once again.
According to CNN, Prince William and Duchess Catherine broke away from tradition and didn't choose members of the royal family as godparents. Instead, the royal couple opted for three of their oldest friends and a cousin from both sides to have the honor of being godparents to the fourth in line to the British throne.
Us Magazine reported that the list of Princess Charlotte's godparents which failed to include Pippa Middleton and Prince Harry consists of Sophie Carter (a longtime friend of the Middletons), James Meade (Prince William's good friend), Adam Middleton (Kate Middleton's cousin), the Honorary Laura Fellowes (the late Princess Diana's niece), and Thomas van Straubenzee (Prince William's best friend).
Despite not being a godmother, Pippa Middleton came to the christening and purportedly even put a lot of thought and effort into looking her best.
"The couture designer who made Pippa Middleton's cream coat for George's christening, Suzannah Crabb said 'hours of research' went into the history of royal christenings so as to make Pippa an outift with the right hem length, style of hat, colour and cut," Daily Mail reported.
Prince Harry on the other hand, didn't make it to the event. Was Prince Harry so insulted over not being chosen to be a godfather that he chose not to attent the christening at all? Not quite. Harry reportedly had commitments to be in Africa for three months and could not make it back home.
